This week, look back on the Early 70s.
1972-4 saw the dominance of singer/ songwriters like Jim Croce, Carly Simon, Roberta Flack and Dolly Parton. Pink Floyd took us to the dark side of the moon, Stevie Wonder lifted us to higher ground, Curtis Mayfield was superfly and Helen Reddy roared with her feminist anthem. West Coast America offered up The Eagles, Philadelphia became a musical hub through acts such as The Stylistics and Suzi Quatro emerged as one of the first rock chicks.
Hear essential tracks from the likes of: Steely Dan, the Steve Miller Band, Barry White and the New York Dolls.
